Residents who want to visit larger cities can access them by using major roads that bisect the county. Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh are all about 100 miles away.


Several public school districts are located in the county. Parents also have the option to send their children to a private Catholic school. For career training, adult and high school students can attend Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia. The only college located in the county is Kent State University at Tuscarawas. Many other options for higher education are available in the surrounding counties.


Tuscarawas County has several hospitals and healthcare facilities, including branches of large Northeast Ohio hospitals. If needed, the larger hospitals are easily accessible in surrounding counties.
